The '''Lands of Arboria''', simply referred to as '''Arboria''', is an Oligarchy that is headed by its Great Council. Located in the central Western area of Cinder [-2500, -1000], the nation borders [[Ritannia]]'s province of Barbacena to its West, The Order of the Water Lily to its Northeast, and [[Nauticca]] to its South. Arboria shares territory with both Nauticca (in the Southwestern claims of Arboria) and both [[Cauldra]] and Nauticca on behalf of the Western Pact (due South of its Capitol, Verdania).

== Etymology ==
The name of Arboria is derived from the Latin word of 'Arbor', which means tree. Trees are a focal point of Arborian settlements and culture.

== History ==

=== Pre-Arboria ===
Long before the nation of Arboria even existed, the initial Testifikaan village that made up the original settlement of Verdania was a now defunct nation, Circosia [-2500, -1000]. Circosia would be dissolved on the 1st of January, 2024.

Following the abandonment, the first settlers of Arboria, Moth and VexForce, arrived in the Testifikaan village on the 16th of March, 2024. Whilst VexForce would go off to become a citizen under the Monarchy of Yergola, Moth would develop the lands into a stateless city. Many individuals would come and go, notable builders being [[Yohn Othan]] (of Nauticca) and Zin Hue (of the [[Tsagaan Khanate]]), and even an equine breeder and trainer, SheepKingSheep. Within the unnamed stateless city would entail rapid development over the course of a week. During this time, iconic landmarks such as the Verdania Community House, the Verdania Trading Hall, the 'Studio Ghibli' House, and the Great Tree would be constructed. Much infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and a canal would also be constructed.

The Great Tree would become the very heart and soul of the city of Verdania, along with the very nation of Arboria, as it would influence the actions of the government and the cultural beliefs of the Arborian people and their affinity with nature.

=== Founding of Arboria ===
The region in which the stateless city was founded was very active. It was surrounded on just about every side by other nations. The city remained under the radar from the public of Cinder, until eventually, it would make its way upon the map with Arannese scouts looking to expand into the region. The idea of the city being claimed over was a concern of Moth for sometime. Foreign scouts looking to claim over this region only raised concerns further.

After much deliberation, the consensus was to establish and maintain sovereignty over their city and the surrounding land.

With the Great Tree being the pride of her people, Arboria was officially founded upon the 1st of April, 2024, by the current members of its Great Council, namely Moth, VexForce, JamesTowne, and SheepKingSheep, with the sight of foundation being the city of Verdania.

=== Signing of the Western Pact ===
Following Arboria's foundation, it would launch itself into the world stage. Arborian officials would be very vocal with their opinions on matters occurring throughout Cinder's world stage, and even immerse themselves in their own diplomacy. On the 4th of April, 2024, Representative Moth would begin conversations with representatives from both Cauldra and Nauticca to discuss cultivating relationships with one another on behalf of their proximity with one another and their placement in the West.

Following days of discussion and drafting up a treaty, the [[Western Pact]] would be officially signed by Representative Moth of Arboria, Commander Nitalia Witting of Nauticca, and Chairman GlitchTime of Cauldra. The main points of the treaty encompassed a non-aggression pact between the three nations, safeguards and due notice with expansion by any of the three nations, as well as assurances of free trade and infrastructure between the three nations.

Following the establishment of the Western Pact, Arboria would face an era of great prosperity, however this would also place them in more spotlights on the global stage.

=== Verdania ===
Verdania is the Capital of Arboria. It was the very first location to be settled into by the original Arborians, and sits upon the lands that were known as Circosia long ago. Verdania is an ever-developing nation, cultivated by the hard work of the Great Council and predominantly Nauticcan foreign labor.

Verdania hosts some of the most important buildings and trees to Arborian culture and life. The original structure of Verdania Community House, along with the Great Tree that stands as the centerpiece of Verdania and Arboria's flag. Verdania contains residencies for just about every member of the nation, and even those from other nations who assisted in the construction of the city.

Verdania has often been accredited as 'the prettiest city in Cinder', on behalf of the rather large plant life, the beautiful landscape it sits upon, and the unique buildings that are iconic to the Verdania style.

=== Mossy Nook ===
Mossy Nook is the first settlement established in the Lands of Arboria outside of Verdania. Just South of the growing city, Mossy Nook sits as a much more quiet settlement, home to various mythical critters of Arboria, as well as lodging for Nauticcan foreign laborers.

Yohn Othan oversees the construction and establishment of Mossy Nook. Yohn's Construction & Cutlass Company has a prominent presence in the region. Mossy Nook is still a developing and ever-expanding development of Arboria.

=== The Stone Platform ===
The Stone Platform is an eyesore that will soon become a large and bustling city, based on architecture from faraway lands that have since had its culture and ideas abandoned... Until now.

A small countryside savanna farming town in the Southwestern portion of Arboria.

== Geography ==
Arboria is a vast and diverse landscape. The Eastern portions of Arboria, primarily Verdania, Mossy Nook, and Willowmere, are almost exclusively plains, with giant trees and much greener decorating the population epicenters. Meanwhile, the Northwestern, Western, and Southwestern parts of Arboria are almost all flat savanna. While the biomes of Arboria are primarily made up of both plains and savanna biomes, a large mountain peak separates the city of Verdania from the town of Mossy Nook. The Evonian Sea comprises the Eastern coastline of Arboria.

Yohn Othan's life was a vivid tapestry of daring performances and hidden scars before he became a feared pirate in the [[Lakes of Mondego]]. Starting from a young age as one of the many neglected orphans in the streets of the city, Salit, Yohn was captivated by the circus from a young age. His innate agility and flair for acrobatics drew the attention of Bellaric Hames, the ringleader of a traveling circus. Unfortunately, the circus was less a place of wonder than one of oppression, with Bellaric exploiting his performers, Yohn especially as one of the stars of the show, for profit. As the conditions in Salit deteriorated, marked by increasing class disparity and the famine that was soon to come, Yohn’s life in the circus became unbearable.

When news of the Nautilus and their rebellious acts against the upper class of Salit reached him, Yohn saw a flicker of hope. His chance came one evening when the circus performed near the docks; using the chaos of a particularly grand finale (involving the arson of several circus tents along with an unfortunate "accident" for Bellaric involving a captured ravager) as cover, Yohn escaped, slipping away to find the Nautilus. Finding the hidden cove wasn’t easy, but Yohn's determination led him to the renegade pirates. He was welcomed into their fold, his skills as an acrobat quickly repurposed for nimble combat and stealth operations on board their ship, The Nautilus. Yohn embraced the pirate life, driven by a deep-seated desire for revenge against the injustices he had suffered and seen inflicted on the lower classes in Salit. As Yohn grew into his role among the Nautilus, he became an embodiment of their ideals—fighting not just for wealth or food, but for the freedom and dignity of the oppressed. His tales of the circus, both wondrous and dark, wove into the growing tapestry of Nauticca's culture, further enriching the storied past of the pirate nation he now called home.

After the Nautilus fled Salit following the great famine, Yohn would be one of the few survivors alongside [[Nitalia Witting]], the now Commander of Nauticca. Following the emergency landing on Tebatari and the Nautilus return to the Lakes of Mondego, Yohn would go on a journey through the lands, performing in cities across Cinder for scraps and learning the ropes of this new world, until eventually returning to his kin in the official nation of [[Nauticca]].

Yohn officially became a member of Nauticca on the 19th of March, 2024.

Notable builds constructed by Yohn Othan would be the Verdania Community House, Verdania's barn, and the Moth's Nest Tavern. Along with being paid in valuables and building supplies, Yohn would be granted permits to build a vacation home for himself and his fiancé, Howlite, within the now bustling capital of Verdania.

Following tense relations between several Southern nations (most notably the Silly Company, Danouvia, the Southern Tribesmen, Saristania, and a few others who had banded together to create the Southern Cinder Coalition, or SCC for short) and the former nation of [[Yergola]], a war would be officially declared by the SCC on the 23rd of March, 2024. Yohn Othan would be contracted as a mercenary alongside his Nauticcan compatriot, Yuei Kanazaki by the SCC, to make an offensive move on the Yergolan monarchy.

On the 29th of March, 2024, the Nauticcan mercenaries would make the trek from Nauticca to Yergola to fight in the Battle of Yergola. The only things of note is that Yohn bested the Thundran official, Vinz Izon (it is to be of note that Izon was naked in combat), on the battlefield, and the fighting lasted no longer than an hour. Queen Selene I of Yergola was nowhere to be seen in this conflict.

On the 31st of March, 2024, Yohn Othan and his accomplice, Glitch Time, raided what they thought to be the abandoned megastructure of Gono. The duo obtained many items of value, from bountiful building supplies that would better both of their respective nations, to weapons of war with offensive and defensive purpose. Following the raid, the Republic of Ritannia would claim that Gono was under Ritannian jurisdiction, following Cauldran/Firgardian denizen, Aron the Formidable exposing the actions of Yohn and Glitch to the world.

Ritannian officials would descend upon the duo, pressuring the so-called raiders to return the items they took, or else consequential action would follow. This caused Ritannia to call out Nauticca on the world stage, with several other nations external of the incident to comment on the events, and put a rather glaring spotlight on Nauticca. While the Cauldrans were more amicable to return his items, Yohn Othan stood his ground.

Yohn Othan would challenge the Republic of Ritannia in the one court LeBron did not play well on, the court of law. To this day, there is still yet to be a trial on the matter.

The name of Arboria is derived from the Latin word of 'Arbor', which means tree. Trees are a focal point of Arborian settlements and culture.

Long before the nation of Arboria even existed, the initial Testifikaan village that made up the original settlement of Verdania was a now defunct nation, Circosia [-2500, -1000]. Circosia would be dissolved on the 1st of January, 2024.

Following the abandonment, the first settlers of Arboria, Moth and VexForce, arrived in the Testifikaan village on the 16th of March, 2024. Whilst VexForce would go off to become a citizen under the Monarchy of Yergola, Moth would develop the lands into a stateless city. Many individuals would come and go, notable builders being [[Yohn Othan]] (of Nauticca) and Zin Hue (of the [[Tsagaan Khanate]]), and even an equine breeder and trainer, SheepKingSheep. Within the unnamed stateless city would entail rapid development over the course of a week. During this time, iconic landmarks such as the Verdania Community House, the Verdania Trading Hall, the 'Studio Ghibli' House, and the Great Tree would be constructed. Much infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and a canal would also be constructed.

The Great Tree would become the very heart and soul of the city of Verdania, along with the very nation of Arboria, as it would influence the actions of the government and the cultural beliefs of the Arborian people and their affinity with nature.

=== Founding of Arboria ===
The region in which the stateless city was founded was very active. It was surrounded on just about every side by other nations. The city remained under the radar from the public of Cinder, until eventually, it would make its way upon the map with Arannese scouts looking to expand into the region. The idea of the city being claimed over was a concern of Moth for sometime. Foreign scouts looking to claim over this region only raised concerns further.

After much deliberation, the consensus was to establish and maintain sovereignty over their city and the surrounding land.

With the Great Tree being the pride of her people, Arboria was officially founded upon the 1st of April, 2024, by the current members of its Great Council, namely Moth, VexForce, JamesTowne, and SheepKingSheep, with the sight of foundation being the city of Verdania.

=== Signing of the Western Pact ===
Following Arboria's foundation, it would launch itself into the world stage. Arborian officials would be very vocal with their opinions on matters occurring throughout Cinder's world stage, and even immerse themselves in their own diplomacy. On the 4th of April, 2024, Representative Moth would begin conversations with representatives from both Cauldra and Nauticca to discuss cultivating relationships with one another on behalf of their proximity with one another and their placement in the West.

Following days of discussion and drafting up a treaty, the Western Pact would be officially signed by Representative Moth of Arboria, Commander Nitalia Witting of Nauticca, and Chairman GlitchTime of Cauldra. The main points of the treaty encompassed a non-aggression pact between the three nations, safeguards and due notice with expansion by any of the three nations, as well as assurances of free trade and infrastructure between the three nations.

Following the establishment of the Western Pact, Arboria would face an era of great prosperity, however this would also place them in more spotlights on the global stage.
