Fontescura is a farming village located just outside of Anneimd, in the Llaneres District.

Etymology

The name Fontescura is derived from fonte (fountain) and escura (dark), in reference to the obsidian "fountain" nearby.

History

Fontescura was founded on February 2th, 2025, after the first expansion of Anneimd to colonize the Llaneres valley and turn it into productive farmland. Firstly, one two houses, a granary and the field itself were constructed, and the first four settlers were sent from Anneimd February 4th. The next day a group of pillagers attacked the village, probably in retaliation of the Battle of the Four Nations, the local Annemi force was pushed back to the city walls and sadly all the settlers were killed by the invaders. The invaders were finally driven out with help from the Khanate and Adraria. Next day, some 5 new settlers were sent, and the church was constructed with a cross in memory of the settlers killed in the attack. The bar and butcher would be constructed a couple of days later.

Treaty of Fontescura

On 8th January 2025 a the Treaty of Fontescura was signed by the Adrarian leader Dregate and Anneimd's vistor Xurde Prieto which made Anneimd officialy join the Two Rivers Confederacy, the treaty was signed in Fontescura's bar.

Demography

In the first Annemi census (7/02/2025) Fontescura had a population of 10, 5 of whom were unemployed with a 50% unemployment rate.

In the Annemi census of 9/02/2025 the population stayed the same.

In the Annemi census of 12/02/2025 the population had grown to 12 individuals, 6 of whom were unemployed with a 50% unemployment rate.

Ethinicity

Ethnically, Fontescura was 100% Testifikan in all Annemi censuses.

Economy

The main economic sector is agriculture, with 4 of the 6 employees working in the wheat camps or the granary. Fontescura exports a lot of bread to Anneimd proper, being the first producer of bread in the entire country.

Security

Although Fontescura, being a small village, it's very safe, the nether portal near the village has caused various incidents. Villagers have, at least in three occasions, accidentally travelled through the portal and were put in great danger. Thankfully all three times they were rescued succesfully by the government.

Recently a wall and gate have been installed around the portal to prevent more incidents like these.

Reputation

Fontescura is famous in Anneimd for its libertine culture, with sexual activities taken place even in the middle of the street, all the time, which would be considered degenerate and illegal elsewhere in Anneimd or the world. The town has, as such, adquired a very bad reputation with other annemis, especially religious ones.
