Princess Sky is the Princess of Norowarejima and the Ashenheim Empire. Born to a fire elven race within the Nether, she is a being deeply tied to the elements of fire and the sun, possessing a natural ability to harness flame. After crossing into the Overworld due to the negligence of her village, she was later adopted by Emperor Nikolai I Markov (after persistently following him around like a duckling.) Princess Sky is known for her warmth, idealism, and childlike joy, even in a world shaped by war, empires, and power. She is also the founding figure behind the United Nations of Cinder (UNC).
History
Early Life
Born to a small fire elven family in a hidden village deep in the Nether, her lineage was known for their natural affinity with flame. Fire elves were rare even within the Nether itself, usually living far from others in places surrounded by lava seas and basalt fields. Sky’s village, which she calls Emberhollow, was carefully hidden, both to protect its people and to keep outsiders away. The elders taught the children to stay close to home, they warned them about ghasts flying through the sky, piglin clans that couldn’t be trusted, and the cold, unfamiliar world beyond the Nether. The Overworld was spoken of as dangerous, too bright, and too fragile for beings born of fire.
Very little is publicly known about Sky’s biological family, or rather, no one actually knows who her biological family is, and Sky herself rarely talks about them. What she has shared is few and far between, only that her childhood was full of gathering shiny stones, tracing shapes in basalt dust, and learning to create sparks of fire from soul flame torches. Even as a child, Sky showed signs of strong fire magic. When she got excited, small flames would flicker around her fingers. Her parents told her she carried a "little sun" inside her, something warm and powerful, but also dangerous if used without care. They warned her never to let it run free. But that warning came too late, when her parents disappeared after traveling through a Nether portal on a trade run, Sky refused to wait. While the adults argued, she slipped away and followed them through the portal herself.
She emerged into a sunflower plains under an open blue sky, the first time she had ever seen the Overworld. From there, she wandered through villages and biomes, meeting people who were kind, confused, or afraid of her. Alone but determined, Sky kept moving, driven simply by pure childlike hope inside her chest.
Pre-Cinder Years
Sky eventually came across villagers who took her in, despite not fully understanding what she was. They taught her how the Overworld worked, how to trade, how to farm, and how to survive without fire always being close. This period lasted around five years in human time, and though it was brief, it left a lasting impression on her. Still, Sky never truly settled. She continued searching. That search led her back into the Nether, where she wandered for a long time before stumbling upon another portal, one she didn’t know would change everything.
The Continent of Cinder
Sky arrived at the Continent of Cinder in the least graceful way possible, thrown out of a portal and onto unfamiliar land. She quickly realized that this land was full of powerful nations, rulers, and fights far bigger than anything she had seen before. But to Sky though, Cinder felt exciting. She watched how people acted, copied what they did, and tried to understand their world in her own way. When she found a small island, she proudly declared herself the Princess of Norowarejima. At first, it was playful! Something she said because it felt right. Over time, it became real.
It was here that Sky met many people who would shape her life, including Prince Ash, Ambrose, Willow, and eventually Emperor Nikolai. She witnessed conflicts and moments of violence that changed her view of the world. That's why she began following Nikolai almost everywhere. She helped with small tasks, watched him rule, and slowly learned what leadership actually meant. What started as curiosity turned into trust, and that trust eventually turned to family. Nikolai later adopted Sky, making her Princess of the Ashenheim Empire.
