Tazkuytai /tæzˈkutaɪ/ is a semi-constitutional monarchy primarily made up of native Tynzeu people. It stretches from the city of Verits to the capital Tazkuytai. It closely borders Firgaards to its west and Riaen to its south. Tazkuytai stands as the most far-eastern nation of the South-Eastern continent. Previously, the nation had been a vassal of the Vukodlakie Empire but later seceded and Tazkuytai is currently the largest state of the South-Eastern continent. Tazkuytai originally stood as a refugee state of the Tynzeu people and other displaced peoples who sought to escape the 'zu kutuva' (barbarians) of the farlands and later evolved into a feudal society.
Culture
Tynzeu culture is most highlighted by two primary aspects: massive support for monarchy and a terrible fear of 'zu ti'kutuva' (the barbarians).
Militarisation
Due to the Kutuvakol (barbarian fear), large private stores of armour and weapons are personally owned by most subjects of Tazkuytai allowing for the Tynzeu to rapidly arm in war times, as seen in the Sternofel-NSF War. This war in particular initiated the Kutuvakol to its peak since after the long march due to the intervention of mercenaries deemed by the general populace to be of the same breed as the barbarians from their own homeland leading to further stockpiling.
Tazkuytai was generally considered to have the most ready and capable fighting force inside of Vukodlak during their time in the Empire.
Monarchism
The people of Tazkuytai almost entirely subscribe to a political philosophy of the Kèdeuchâdri (hero-king) whereby the monarch should derive his authority from continuous acts of bravery. It is seen as a great sign of weakness for a monarch to not directly participate in a war.
Monarchism in Tazkuytai particularly peaked with the death of the Empress Kresimira which resulted in an estates-general delivering an ultimatum to Auteus Sekuydu to demand the elevation of Tazkuytai to a High Kingdom of Vukodlak or the assembly would crown Auteus themselves. Support for the monarchy has also increased with the revitalisation of Revolutionism; seeing a threat to the Tynzeu way of life led to the collapse for plans of an Assembly of the People.
Values
The greatest values to the Tynzeu are a strong level of patriotism, managed cultural evolution and extensive personal liberties. For example, social mobility within Tazkuytai is exceedingly high, with many adventurers finding it easy to move South or North and settle new lands to find themselves elevated to nobility upon holding land. The people of Tazkuytai are careful regarding accepting foreign cultural influences, particularly ideas that could cause social dissonance such as revolutionism and pro-democracy ideologies.
Literature
The literature of Tazkuytai is primarily focused around poetry, short stories and books on political and economic theory.
Architecture
The architecture of Tazkuytai (city) primarily consists of baroque and haussmannian styles, focusing upon grandiose buildings that provide plentiful living space for residents of the town. Elsewhere in the nation are gothic styles, for example in the Grasyn castle.
Language
The primary legal and spoken language within Tazkuytai is "Tynzeu".
Economy
The Tynzeu economy focuses primarily upon the creation and sale of armour, weapons and potions leading to what has been named a "XP economy" within Tazkuytai whereby the guilds of Tazkuytai take XP as payment at a 'social discount'. Furthermore, there is limited conventional capital enterprise within Tazkuytai that focuses primarily on the production and sale of building resources with Haste (the corporation) in particular focusing on the production of resources involved in redstone machines.
Tazkuytai is currently undergoing a period of economic revitalisation through the trial period of the 'Tazkuytai Florin' whereby Tazkuytai has opted to create a paper currency backed by netherite to be its legal tender which has created a spur of economic and political activity within the nation.
History
Pre-History
This section is predominately external lore (didn't occur on the server).
Prior to the creation of Tazkuytai, the Tynzeu lived in the farlands of the world, records of this original homeland are scare with most knowledge passed down through the elven and over long living peoples of Tazkuytai who tend to paint an idealised picture of the 'old country'.
The homeland faced multiple rampant assaults from barbarians across its border with migrations and invasions causing severe cultural and social strife across the country. Eventually, an assignation of the former Prince, Jyortâ, led to the breakdown of the Tynzeu nation and the "Long March" that eventually led to the creation of Tazkuytai.
Settlement and Subjugation
The Long March was a multi-year period of famine, destitution and death for the Tynzeu people. The population dropped dramatically as the people trekked from the East to eventually settle on the coast of the South Eastern continent of the world; creating the city of Tazkuytai. Shortly thereafter, the Empress Kresimira Horachek welcomed the Tynzeu into the Vukodlakie Empire which Prince Auteus swore fealty to. Originally, Tazkuytai held the distinction of High Thanedom in the Vukodlakie Empire, considered a city-state.
The Lintlicker Tribe
To the east of the bourgeoning state, a tribe of "lint lickers" arose from the very edge of the world, threatening the very existence of Tazkuytai.
After some skirmishing with this barbaric people, great walls were constructed, a militia raised which marched out before razing much of the tribe's land and scattering it across the farlands. The tribals that did survive this event were enslaved or murdered and brough back to Tazkuytai in triumph.
Sternofel War
When Selene of Sternofel murdered Koen of the North Sanean Federation (NSF), Vukodlak was compelled into aiding the NSF in accordance with an alliance between the two states leading to a large amount of the Tynzeu population volunteering to join in the war on behalf of their Empress as compensation for her aid in establishing Tazkuytai.
During the war, Tynzeu soldiers fought valiantly at the Battle of the Riverside, securing multiple victories against the Sternofelian forces during the battle. However, accounts of NSF use of dogs in the battle in addition to constant 'dishonourable' conduct, as perceived by the nobility that fought in the battle, led to Tynzeu approval of the war dropping massively with many soldiers that had previously volunteered then going home rather than continue to fight.
Tynzeu opinion of the war and the NSF as a whole was damaged when many soldiers witnessed the NSF utilising biological warfare during the second major battle of the war, ending all support for continued aid to the NSF within Tazkuytai.
Constitutional Crisis
After the Sternofel war, Empress Kresimira sought to introduce a series of liberal reforms to the Empire, focusing upon the abolition of slavery, the banning of gambling, further rights to villagers and reforms that reduced private and personal ownership of the means of production.
In response to this, Tazkuytai issued a series of grievances to the Empress culminating in the "Ten Grievances." These grievances were initially ignored, the Empress rode to her death fighting a Drake and the then crowned Emperor Radzig Markow would meet with the Tynzeu nobility to revert these changes and bring about a consensus constitution.
Ejection from Vukodlak
Following the ascension of Radzig Markow to the Sculk throne, his reign was immediately met by skepticism of his legitimacy on the throne. Shortly after his coronation, a palace coup against Radzig by "Vukodlak proper" loyalists led to the ejection of Tazkuytai from Vukodlak against the wishes of the Tynzeu nobility and their Prince.
Despite this, Tazkuytai made efforts to secure their independence swiftly, disconnecting themselves from Vukodlak and quickly signing an alliance with Britannica to gain international recognition and defence against potential Vukodlakie retribution.
Prosperity and Peace
In the aftermath of its independence, Tazkuytai experienced an unprecedented period of prosperity, with large infrastructure projects to build up the nation. Primarily, these focused upon the development of rails out of Tazkuytai, with the largest rail on the server Tazkuytai-Britannica being built, with improvements of pre-existing rails out of Tazkuytai occurring.
Furthermore, large scale urbanisation began, with the City of Grasyn, the Palace of Sèvîsta and expansions of the City of Tazkuytai leading to a large boon of housing and industry to the population of Tazkuytai.
With the expansion of Tazkuytai and its territories, the Prince began to institute some "liberal" reforms, forming the Vîsta zu Nurvix (House of Lords). This parliament would permit all landholders within the Principality to participate in it.
The Allied Coalition
With the ascendancy of Thundra in the North West threatening to destabilise the entire world, and destroy Tynzeu ideals of personal freedom and self-determination: Tazkuytai found itself aligning further and further with the NSF whom stood against Thundran dominance in the North.
When approached by the NSF, the Tynzeu parliament quickly voted to join the Allied Coalition and the Prince began a campaign of unequivocal, unconditional support to the Coalition to end Thundran tyranny over the world.
