Zodranism is a monotheistic religion with origins in Thundra. Currently, Thundra is the only nation that has Zodranism as a state religion.

Etymology

Zodranism consists of the word Thundran word Zodr, meaning Call of Thunder. Thusly, a person following the Call of Thunder is a Zodran.

Origins

Zodranism originates from proto-Thundran tribes prior to their settlement in Thundra. These tribes, already devoutly religious, would experience traumatic events that would have them abandon their gods in dissappointment.

The worship of Thunder and it's storm would come about when the proto-Thundran would find refuge on an island that had been struck by lightning in a heavy thunderstorm. This island, Donr's Gift, would be revered by the tribe as a holy site and final refuge, which ultimately culminated in the settlement of Donr's Gift.

Belief

Zodrans believe in Donr, the God of Mighty Tempest.

Donr is a religious entity that is often described as gender neutral, though various gender pronouns such as he/him may be used when referencing him.

Zodrans believe Donr watches over the world, but seldomly intervenes. Intervention or guidance by Donr is usually done in the form of the Mighty Tempest, akin to the Holy Spirit in Christianity. For this reason, both Donr and Zodrans are called God of Mighty Tempest and Children of Mighty Tempest respectively. Thundra, the holy land of Zodranism, is also called the Land of Mighty Tempest.
