Nykol Haartmann was a Danúvian revolutionary leader and a Sanéan citizen who had been serving as Preféct of Danúvia since the very dawn of Sanéa. He was also serving as chief operating officer of the Sanéan Rail Group while acting as president of the Messenian Metro too. He held several high ranking government positions within the Commonwealth, as a Reform Party Senator, and as Consul to the end of his political carreer. Nykol was killed in combat by Sol Aureus during the violent founding days of the Diryn Imperium.

Early Life

Nykol Haartmann was born in Istropolj as son of a fisherman. He spent the first few years living in poverty. Nykol and his family finally left for Kaljista during the expansion wave of the duchy of Istropolj in the hopes of a better life.

There, he spent the rest of his childhood without sorrow. His father managed to make a name for himself as head of a growing fishing operation, while his mother worked as a maid in Kaljista's tavern "Scetét's Jest".Upon reaching the age of 15, his father, who was running a successful fishing enterprise by then, sent him to attend to the Panoun Academy of Aquín to receive proper education.

In Aquín, Nykol turned out to be a quick learner and he managed to make up for his lack of education in a short amount of time.

He would then go on to focus his higher education on societal studies with special detail to faith and class dynamics.

Nykol would soon get together with Clemencz Myller and other like-minded Danúvians. Their influence gradually turned Nykol into a firm supporter of the democratic and republican cause against the autocratic Kazymiran rule.

First political involvement and Danúvian Republican Chaos

With the republican faction in the academy gaining popularity, Nykol Haartmann and Klemencz Myller went on to found the Libertaat pur Danouvia Mouvement. The political movement would reflect their political views, being staunchly in favor of democratication while calling for the toppling of the Kazymir dynasty. Their popularity would drastically increase, as more and more people grew tired with the vacant throne and its overworked cabinet of Visrejns.

Seizing the momentum, Nykol and Klemencz would manage to force political change, with Luis Kazymir agreeing to abdicate the throne, leaving behind a power vaccuum which Klemencz Myller took advantage of. Shortly after the fall of the Grand Duke's government, Klemencz Myller would go on to proclaim himself as first President of the Republic of Danouvia, with Nykol Haartmann ascending to be an influential governing figure. A new constitution was implemented with significant help from Nykol and Danouvia was able to look outwards again. Myller would go on to successfully demand the return of Pedpársium Island from the duchy of Sprusia, an former ally of the Grand Duchy. Said Island had been sold to Sprusia by the Grand Duchy, causing fracture in the Sanean Defence League, eventually resulting in the Republic announcings its departure, marking the end of the league. Relations between the lands of Danúvia and Sprusia would remain damaged until a slow diplomatic reapproach took place under the Commonwealth of Sanéa.
