Kingdom of Loire

The Kingdom of Loire, shortened to Loire most of the time, is a country in the region of Pyrannica in the south of the continent of Ashenheim. Loire is formed by four duchies, it borders 6 countries: Ashenstrand to the west; Mistensia to the northwest; Sanéa to the northeast; and Hollenberg, Valverde, and Alfama to the south. Loire borders the Sea of Seret to the south. Loire is a culturally diverse country, sharing cultural traits with the Arannese, Cauldran and Istraki culture. People from Loire are referred to as Loirians.

History

Loire Abbey

After the King of Cauldra, Swonki left his Kingdom after a devastating war he founded an Abbey atop Mont Loire. Together with Squashy, Swonki made the beginnings of what later would grow into the Grand Papal States. Squashy made a new version of their farm in Cauldra and named it SquashyFarm.

On the 23rd of November 2023 Swonki held a Diet in the Abbey of Loire, inviting religious leaders from all over the world to find out which religion the Abbey should host. However, no one showed. Swonki hereby decided to find a religion himself to pursue ontop the mountain. After a while Swonki finished his research and became the first Pope of Pyrannism.

SouthRail was founded shortly after the religious diet and launched the first international train line between the city of Loire and Palermo.

On the 21st of December 2023 the country rebranded into the Grand Papal States with Pope Swonki posting the first laws.
