Thundra (aka the Thunder Republic, the Land of Mighty Tempest) is a nation in the Far North of Cinder. It neighbours the Imperial Federation of Fortica to the north and the Republic of Ritannia to the south. Further east lays Crannoghold.

History

Settlement

Thundra was founded by Vinz Izon (BunnyboyCarrot) on the 12th of September, 2023.

Like many peoples before them, the Thundrans' origin lay in a nomad lifestyle, journeying across the lands on which the gens came in contact with many other tribes, settlements, and city-states. The Thundrans, a tolerant and somewhat superstitious folk, blessed the lands they came across, including it's inhabitants.

While travelling the then unexplored Far North, called "Terra Incognita", the tribe came in contact with much more of the undead than in the nights before.

Seeking refuge, the Thundrans came across Villager settlements, who they called "Testifikans". They provided shelter and food to the exhausted Thundrans, and they blessed their lands in return.

Having set off from this temporary refuge, the undead came back as a frightening storm had come in. The Thundrans damned their gods for abandoning them once again.

It was when lightning crashed atop a mountain hill, seemingly surrounded by water, that the Thundran's lluck would start to turn. The Thundrans rushed across the river dividing the grassy landscape. On that island, the Undead, only slowly crossing the river, were easy pickings.

With the Undead banished, the tribe fell to their knees, praising Donr, the God of Mighty Tempest, and cowering in repentance for having damned them before. No more would they fear a powerful storm, but rather embrace it's thundrous might.

They named that hilly islet Donr's Gift, on which the Thundrans settled, establishing Thundra - The Land of Mighty Tempest.

Development and Industrialization

Shortly after its foundation, the Thunder Republic would quickly develop and establish industrial capablities.

From curing infected Testifikans to terraforming Donr's gift, Thundra's projects kept growing in size. Cinder's first Double Mob Spawner Farm was established in Thundra, after which the Republic expanded westwards to claim an island for explicit industrial projects.

With the completion of Thundra's Iron Farm, the Industrial Combine of Thunda was created, serving as Thundra's state-owned industrial company, with its home on the newly settled western island.

Infrastructure projects followed, such as paths or the Vodrbolt Tunnel, connecting the capital of Donr's Gift to the ocean.

Political Developments

With the completion of the Stormforge, Thundra's parliament, the Republic sought to connect with other nations of the world.

Thundra had commited to neutrality during the Cauldra-Lavarde war, but voiced concerns that Cauldra's Casus Belli "does not contain any reasonable motives for the war" which "set a worrying precedent regarding the justification of war".

It was in October of 2023 that the Thunder Republic would condemn Danuvia for their treatment of Testifikans in their nation. Testifikans were supposedly "held in ungodly tight spaces, even struggling to breathe".

Further inspection also found a mass grave of 116 Testifikan heads laying on the ground. Thundra immediately ceased all diplomatic ties with Danouvia and sent demands for reperation for the Testifikan people's.

Following the declaration of the Tsagaani raid on the Cauldran town of Covilha, Thundra condemned the Khanate as "uncivilized, a blemish on this earth that is barely distinguishable to the Horde of the Night". Thundra pledged it's support for the Kingdom of Cauldra.
