The North-Eastern Union (NEU) is an alliance between North-Eastern nations. The members as of early febuary 2025 consist of:
- The Great Scaldarran Sultanante
- Kemet of Vasrio
- Federal State of Eltaland
- Britannica
- The Callium Regard
North-Eastern Union Accords
Upon the creation of the NEU, a set of accords were also created to act as the rules for each member to abide by:
- Article I: Name and Purpose The organization shall be known as the NEU or North-Eastern Union The primary objectives of the Pact are: To provide mutual defense against external threats. To promote free trade and economic collaboration. To ensure stability and to empower nations in the region
- Article II: Membership Any sovereign nation may apply for membership, provided it meets the following criteria: Commitment to the principles of mutual defense, economic cooperation, and peaceful dispute resolution. Approval by a two-thirds majority vote of current member nations. Member nations retain sovereignty and agree to abide by this charter. Must be located in the East, North-East, or South-East.
- Article III: Governance Structure The governance of the NEU ensures fair decision-making and dispute resolution for all member nations. Routine decisions will be voted on directly by all citizens of member nations, ensuring a democratic approach. Major decisions are decided by the leadership of member nations, requiring a two-thirds majority for critical issues like amendments or expulsions. If a dispute between member nations takes place a team of three Judges are to be elected by citizens and leaders, They evaluate both sides of the dispute and propose a compromise for leadership approval. Other Positions: Secretary-General: Elected by all members of the NEU for a term of one month. Responsible for organizing meetings, enforcing decisions, and representing the Pact in external affairs.They are not responsible for the private meetings of member Nations but they are to be told if there is one. Economic Commissioner: Oversees trade agreements. Works with member nations to establish fair economic practices.
- Article IV: Mutual Defense An attack on one member is considered an attack on all. Member nations are obligated to assist, militarily or otherwise, any member under attack. Large-scale military campaigns must be authorized by a two-thirds vote of member nation leadership. In the absence of a functional leadership vote, the founding members of the Pact are responsible for organizing such endeavors.
- Article V: Economic Cooperation Members agree to promote free trade by lowering barriers and allowing free travel. Shared infrastructure projects, such as transportation networks or marketplaces, will be jointly funded and maintained. The Economic Commissioner will mediate trade disputes and propose solutions to The Judges.
- Article VI: Dispute Resolution Disputes between members are to be submitted to the Court The Court will hear both sides and propose a binding resolution. Nations refusing to abide by the Court’s decisions may face sanctions or expulsion by a two-thirds vote.
- Article VII: Amendments Amendments to this charter require a proposal by at least three member nations and approval by a two-thirds majority of all member Nation’s Leaderships.
- Article VIII: Enforcement and Sanctions Member nations failing to comply with the charter’s provisions may face sanctions, including suspension of trade privileges or expulsion.
- Article IX: Headquarters The central headquarters of the North-Eastern Union shall be established in a neutral city accessible to all member nations. The headquarters will host all Council meetings and serve as the administrative hub of the Pact.
